What Is the Albert Francis Gilmartin Memorial Scholarship?
This scholarship is designed for high-achieving high school seniors who reside in Quincy, MA, and who demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need. The program supports students as they transition from high school to full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year institution in the United States.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

Be a resident of Quincy, MA or the Hough’s Neck neighborhood of Quincy, MA

Be a high school senior attending:

Quincy High School, or
-
North Quincy High School
-

Plan to enroll full-time in an undergraduate program at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year

Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Demonstrate financial need
Selection Criteria
Scholarship recipients are selected based on a holistic review of the application, including:

Academic achievement

Leadership and participation in school or community activities

Work experience

A personal statement outlining educational and career goals

Unusual personal or family circumstances

One online letter of recommendation

Demonstrated financial need
Financial need is a required component of the selection process.
Scholarship Awards

Required Application Documents
Applicants must upload the following materials as part of their application:

A current, complete official high school transcript
(Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must include the student’s name, school name, grades, and credit hours for each course and term.) -
SAT or ACT scores (only if not listed on the high school transcript)

One online recommendation form, submitted on the applicant’s behalf no later than:
February 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM (Central Time)
