Alliant Energy Innovation Scholarship 2026 in the United States

The Alliant Energy Innovation Scholarship Program is designed to support students pursuing careers in STEM fields or craft and skilled trades who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study within the Alliant Energy service territory. This scholarship aims to encourage innovation, technical skills, and workforce development in Iowa and Wisconsin.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, a nationally recognized organization that manages scholarship and educational support programs across the United States.

What Is the Alliant Energy Innovation Scholarship?

This scholarship supports students who are enrolling for the first time in full-time undergraduate programs in either STEM disciplines or skilled trade and craft programs such as electrical power distribution, gas utility construction and service, and welding. The program focuses on students living within the Alliant Energy service territory who demonstrate leadership, academic readiness, and commitment to their chosen career path.

Alliant Energy Innovation Scholarship 2026 in the United States

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a U.S. resident living within the Alliant Energy service territory at the time of application

  • Be either:

    • A dependent child of a current customer in good standing, or

    • A current customer in good standing of one of Alliant Energy’s utility subsidiaries:

      • Interstate Power and Light Co.

      • Wisconsin Power and Light Co.

  • Be 24 years of age or younger

  • Be enrolling for the first time in full-time undergraduate study* in:

    • A craft or skilled trade program, or

    • A STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)

  • Plan to attend an accredited two-year, four-year, or vocational-technical institution located in Iowa or Wisconsin for the entire upcoming academic year

  • Have a cumulative high school GPA between 2.5 and 4.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)

*High school seniors who are currently taking or have taken post-secondary college courses prior to graduation are still considered eligible.

Ineligible Applicants

Employees of Alliant Energy Corporation, Scholarship America, their subsidiaries or affiliates, as well as immediate family members and household members of such employees, are not eligible to apply.

Selection Criteria

Scholarship recipients are selected based on:

  • Pursuit of a career in a skilled trade/craft or a STEM field

  • Leadership in community service and volunteer activities

  • Academic performance (GPA)

  • Content and quality of a 350-word essay

Financial need is not considered in the selection process.

Alliant Energy Innovation Scholarship 2026 in the United States

Scholarship Awards

  • Each selected student will receive a $1,000 one-time award

  • Up to 25 awards will be granted

  • Scholarships are not renewable

  • Awards are for undergraduate study only

Applicants must submit the following as part of their application:

  • A current, complete official transcript
    (Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must include the student’s name, school name, grades, and credit hours for each course and term.)
